Outlook

Welcome, and congratulations on being selected as a Founders Live city leader!

You’re in a position of great responsibility. You’re curating an experience for founders, their team and supporters, and your city’s startup community. You provide amazing things for them: opportunity, visibility, connection, and validation.

At the same time, if you’re not doing your job, you’re holding this back from everyone. We say that only to emphasize the bigger picture: we must benefit the startup community.

If you’re overwhelmed or need help, just ask your fellow city leaders in the City Leaders category in The Arena (details in Resources below). We all want you to succeed and are ready to support you.

Events

The main function of a city leader is hosting pitch competitions in your city. Everything else flows from that.

Frequency: Establishing a regular cadence for your events is important to awareness and participation in the brand and experience within your community.

As such, we expect you will hold a pitch competition at least once every three months.

The more frequently you hold events, the easier they are to produce and the more people will show up. Conversely, the more time between, the more effort it takes to organize and attract.

Our recommendation is planning your events over the year and setting them up as soon as possible.

Alignment with the Brand

As a local Founders Live leader you have a bit of freedom in how you want to run your Founders Live event.
